SKYLIGHT RENEWABLE ENERGY

Skylight Renewable Energy is a proposed 100-megawatt solar and 100 -megawatt-hour Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project on 1,000 acres of privately owned land in Sutter County, California. This project could be operational as soon as the end of 2028 with the potential to provide taxpayers, school districts, and the local government with reliable economic benefits for years to come.

Solar projects preserve the agricultural character of the community and protect against permanent residential or commercial developments. Our projects are designed to be low impact, ensuring healthy soil, optimal water retention, and minimized erosion. Once the solar project reaches the end of its useful life, the land will be thoughtfully restored, ensuring there are no lasting impacts on its agricultural potential. This will provide an opportunity for landowners to keep their family land for future generations.

Partnering energy storage with solar generation allows California to store extra solar power generated when demand is low to use when demand for energy increases, reducing the opportunity for blackouts and brownouts.
